Spring has arrived, filling every corner with blooming flowers. We’ve prepared a fun art activity where you can make a wreath using drawings of tulips, leaves, and stems. With the Drawin’Art printable template, children can cut, paste, and create their very own beautiful tulip wreath.
As you make the flowers together, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to talk about the changing seasons with your child. Now, let’s walk through the steps for making it!

The free template is designed as a coloring activity. After downloading the template below, you can find the password for the free download by watching the DRARWINART YouTube video.

You’ll need a few simple materials: the template, scissors, glue, markers, and some thick cardboard.

After coloring the template any way you like, carefully cut along the outer lines with scissors. You can use only the DRAWINART template, or let your child get creative by cutting tulips out of colored paper and decorating the wreath their own way.
As children enjoy this art activity, it’s a wonderful chance for them to learn naturally about tulips. Did you know that each color of tulip has its own special meaning? Red tulips represent love, yellow tulips stand for a bright smile, and pink tulips symbolize a happy heart. That’s why tulips can lift your mood and are perfect for sharing warm feelings with others.
A long time ago in the Netherlands, tulips were so popular that people treated them almost like gold! There’s even a story about someone trading a few tulips for a whole house. That’s how precious and special tulips were to people.
You might like to ask your child, “If you could give your tulip wreath to someone as a gift, which color tulip would you choose, and what feeling would you want to share?” It’s a lovely way to explore colors, emotions, and thoughtful expression together.

For the tulips, gently roll each cut-out into a curved shape and glue it in place. This will give the flowers a more rounded, lifelike look on the wreath.

Using thick paper like hardboard or a cardboard box, help your child cut out a large circle—this will be the base of the wreath. You're creating the frame that the tulip decorations will be added to!

Start by decorating the wreath frame with the leaves, placing them in a circle all the way around. This creates a nice leafy base for the tulips to sit on!

Your tulip wreath is all finished. Isn’t it amazing how something so simple can turn into something so colorful and beautiful? Choosing colors and decorating the flowers gives children a calming, creative space to express their feelings through art. And when they gift the wreath to a family member or friend, it’s a wonderful way to learn about sharing and showing care for others.
Enjoy making this lovely tulip wreath with the printable template from DRAWINART!
