When June comes around, many people start planning their summer vacations for July and August. So today, we’ve prepared a penguin craft that’s perfect for both the summer season and the theme of travel.
Did you know that penguins live in Africa too? On a beautiful stretch of sand called Boulders Beach, you can see penguins waddling peacefully along the shore. I was so inspired by my trip there that I created this craft activity to share with you!

Peaceful South African penguins

Penguin Craft Activity For Kindergarten You can download the template here!

Decorate the template any way you like, then cut along the outer lines with scissors.

Fold the cute little feet of the penguin using origami-style folds.

Apply glue to the semi-circular wings, roll them gently, and attach them to make rounded wings.

Have fun drawing your own penguin’s facial expression!

Fold the face and wings inward to give the penguin a 3D shape.

Attach the penguin’s body to the inside of the circle—and it’s complete!

Try making penguins in all different sizes. It will look like a penguin family at Boulders Beach in South Africa!
This is a great way to learn about famous places around the world while also creating adorable animals.
Next time, I’ll show you how to make another animal I met during my trip to South Africa!
