Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft for Kids
Today, Iâd love to introduce a Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft that fits right into a childâs little hands! ð
This mini Christmas tree craft is a simple and fun winter art activity that you can enjoy with kids at home or in the classroom. Made with recycled paper plates, itâs perfect for creative play during the holiday season.
Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft for Kids, Materials Youâll Need
Green or light green paper plates
(If you only have white paper plates, donât worry! You can paint them using watercolor paints.)
Green watercolor paint (optional)
Scissors
Hole punch
Colorful ribbon or yarn
Double-sided tape
Craft sticks (popsicle sticks)
Pom-poms or other decorative materials

Start by painting the paper plates green if needed. Let kids freely paint with green shadesâitâs a great sensory art experience.

Cut each paper plate into quarters.
Using a hole punch, punch holes along a zigzag line near the curved edge.

Create two identical quarter pieces using the same method.
For the top layer of the Christmas tree, take another quarter piece and trim it slightly smaller into a narrow cone shape. Punch fewer holes on this piece.
(Just like a real Christmas tree, the top should be smaller!)

Prepare colorful ribbons.
Thread the ribbon diagonally through the holes, weaving it back and forth to create a beautiful zigzag pattern.
Repeat this step to decorate each paper plate piece.
You can also use yarn, pipe cleaners, or other craft materials instead of ribbon.

Stack the paper plate pieces from largest to smallest and attach them using double-sided tape to form a Christmas tree shape.
Add a craft stick to the back to represent the tree trunk.

Decorate the top or empty spaces with pom-poms or stickers.
And just like that, your Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft for Kids is complete!
This Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft is a wonderful way to turn everyday recycled materials into a festive holiday decoration. Itâs simple, creative, and full of Christmas joyâperfect for making memories with kids this winter! ð
